Dear Delhi Chapter ISAR members
I am extremely privileged and honored to be part of the Indian Society for Atherosclerosis Research (ISAR). I take this opportunity to express my deep satisfaction that ISAR fraternity is keenly devoted to the task of finding effective preventive and therapeutic measures to deal with atherosclerosis. ISAR brings under its umbrella researchers from multiple disciplines – both clinical and basic scientists – and this has provided a unique platform for multi-disciplinary and translational research which is instrumental in taking the research from the ‘bench to bed side’.
I have a long association with ISAR. It is my proud privilege to have been associated with this society since 1998. I served the society in various capacities. I also had the honor to serve as the President of ISAR from 2015 to 2017. It has been my constant endeavor to contribute to the growth of this prestigious society. I am again honored to hold the reins of the first State Chapter of ISAR, the Delhi Chapter (DC), as its President. I also congratulate and convey my best wishes to newly appointed office bearers for the term 2021 to 2023. The Delhi State chapter was founded in 2014 with a mandate to optimally promote the potential of our young investigators and to encourage them to take part in the scientific deliberations in large numbers. I would like to affirm that my entire team has an important duty to deliver and we have a roadmap to promote, uplift and bring ISAR-DC as an important platform for all the young and senior researchers to share their output on atherosclerosis.
The unforeseen global crisis of COVID-19 has impacted our lives in many ways. Nevertheless, we all have to set the ball rolling again. This year we plan to organize scientific activities like CME and Seminars and also bring out our newsletter. This will help us to achieve the goals set by ISAR-DC to keep everyone abreast of the tremendous advances in the various fields of medicine related to atherosclerosis.
I also extend my heartfelt wishes to all the esteemed Delhi Chapter members and request everyone’s commitment to participate in all the ISAR-DC activities and to support ISAR-DC in all possible ways.
